Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By creating an account or using Demucs.net you agree to these terms, to the Acceptable Use Policy and to the Refund Policy, which form part of them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Accounts

• You must be able to form a binding contract where you live to use Demucs.net.
• Keep your sign-in details secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
• One person, one account. Creating extra accounts, or using throwaway email addresses, to collect more free credits is not allowed.
• Give us accurate information and keep your email address current.

3. The service

Demucs.net is an independent web interface for Demucs, an open-source music source separation model. We run the model on third-party GPU infrastructure and give you the resulting stems to play and download. We may change, add or remove features, and we do not promise the service will be available at every moment.

4. Credits, plans and payment

• Credits. Separations are paid for in credits. One credit covers about one minute of audio on the standard model; other models and stem counts cost more or less, and the exact cost of a job is shown before you start it.
• Holds and refunds of credits.A job's credits are taken when it starts. If the separation fails, they are returned to your balance automatically. If a file turns out to be longer than the length reported when it was submitted, the difference is charged.
• Free credits. The free plan includes 30 credits a month for accounts that sign in with Google or confirm their email address. They are granted after automated checks against abuse, may be withheld when those checks fail, and expire after 30 days.
• Subscriptions. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance and renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in Settings → Billing; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Credits from a subscription expire 30 days after they are issued.
• Credit packs. One-time purchases. Their credits expire 365 days after purchase.
• Value. Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred or exchanged.
• Prices. Prices are shown before you pay, in US dollars, and may include taxes where required. We may change prices for future purchases and renewals; we will tell subscribers before a new price applies to them.
• Refunds of money are covered by the Refund Policy.

5. Your audio and your stems

You keep all rights you have in the audio you upload and in the stems made from it. You give us only the permission we need to run the service: to store your files, send them to our GPU provider for processing, and deliver the results to you, for as long as our retention periods allow. We do not claim ownership of your audio and do not use it to train models.

You must own the audio you upload or have permission to process it. Separating a recording does not give you any new rights in it: a stem of a song you do not own is still part of that song, and you are responsible for how you use it.

6. Acceptable use

The Acceptable Use Policy sets out what you may not do with the service — including infringing copyright, using isolated vocals to impersonate real people, and abusing free credits or the platform.

7. Copyright complaints

If you believe audio processed here infringes your copyright, email support@demucs.net with: the work you own, where the material appears or the details that identify it, your contact details, a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised, and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for them, with your physical or electronic signature. We act on valid notices promptly and close the accounts of repeat infringers. Stems are only available to the account that created them and are deleted when their retention period ends.

8. Suspension and termination

We may refuse or stop jobs, withhold free credits, suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or when we must by law. Where the breach is serious or deliberate, remaining credits are forfeited and purchases are not refunded. You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time in Settings → Security.

9. Third-party software and services

Demucs was created by other people and is released under the MIT license; its pretrained weights were trained on datasets with their own terms, which our Licensing page explains. The service depends on providers such as our GPU, hosting and payment providers, and we are not responsible for their outages.

10. Names and trademarks

“Demucs” is the name of the open-source project, used here only to describe the model this site runs. Meta and other names are trademarks of their owners and appear only to identify their products; no endorsement is implied.

11. No warranty

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. Separation quality depends on the model and on the recording, and we do not promise any particular result, that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that files will be kept beyond the retention periods we state. Keep your own copies of anything you need.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose and USD 50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

13. Indemnity

You agree to cover claims, losses and costs that arise from audio you upload or from your breach of these terms, including claims that your use of the service infringed someone else's rights.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you by email or on the site before it takes effect; continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the place where the operator of demucs.net is established, and disputes go to the courts there, unless the law of your country gives you the right to bring them where you live. Consumer protections that apply to you by law are not affected. Before starting any formal dispute, please email us so we can try to resolve it.
